Our Mission

We serve professionals in the mortgage industry statewide by advocating for, collaborating with, and educating our members.

The MMA is working for you and your industry. We collaborate with the best in our industry to ensure our information is valuable and relevant for our members. We want our members to become more efficient and effective in the ever changing mortgage industry. By supporting its members through the volunteer efforts of experienced industry leaders, we strive to make a better industry for all. We do this by promoting the highest degree of professionalism, connecting you with industry peers, and providing education and resources for growing your business in a compliant fashion.

Get Involved

Excited about organizing our next stellar event, shaping impactful MMA communications, or welcoming new members? The MMA eagerly invites volunteers to join one of our committees! If a particular opportunity catches your eye, please reach out directly to the chairperson. Alternatively, for any additional queries, don’t hesitate to contact our office. All volunteers must maintain current membership in good standing and are kindly requested to sign our Volunteer Agreement annually upon renewing their service to the MMA.

Committees

Help us to engage with members, connect with new members, and network in this committee.

Chair: Trevor Enroth

The Program Committee is dedicated to enhancing our member experience by curating valuable content and events tailored to your interests. We engage with our members to identify what topics and formats—whether virtual or in-person—will be most beneficial. Our responsibilities include:

  • Content Curation: We select and organize relevant topics, from innovative programs and vendor offerings to updates on legislative changes affecting the mortgage industry.
  • Event Planning: We handle all logistical aspects, including securing presenters, organizing the event location, coordinating with sponsors, and arranging food services if needed.
  • Social and Educational Events: We also host a variety of events such as happy hours, holiday parties, and educational sessions to foster community and provide valuable learning opportunities.

Our goal is to deliver engaging and informative experiences that meet the diverse needs and interests of our members.

Chairs: Mike Elwell and Sarah Johanns

Join this committee to make a wonderful golfing event for everyone in the MMA!

Chairs: Jeff Zajac and Rita Kennedy

We are currently seeking 3-5 professionals within the mortgage industry to assist in marketing and communications for industry events and education! This committee is directly responsible for promoting the Minnesota Mortgage Association and driving engagement with membership and events. Time commitment would be approximately 2 hours per week. We are looking for individuals with a passion towards content creation, design, social media optimization, streaming technology, and/or video creation! Give back by helping others learn about and participate in industry leading events and education.

Chair: Sarah Rocklitz

From breakfast panels with people from MN government to discussing laws that impact the mortgage industry, the MMA has a lot of ways to get involved and learn legally.

Through collaboration and advocacy, the DEI committee aims to enhance diversity, eliminate biases and cultivate an environment that values and respects individuals from all backgrounds. While DEI committees traditionally focus on creating inclusive workplace cultures, as real estate professionals, we have a unique opportunity to extend our impact beyond colleagues and into the broader community. By developing policies, organizing training programs and implementing strategies to ensure equal opportunities, we can contribute to expanding homeownership access to the larger community.

If you are someone who enjoys planning events, coordinating interesting topics that the MMA membership would find educational and valuable, you should serve on either the Programming or Education Committee.  The time commitment is approx. 2-3 hours a month.

Chairs: Mike Elwell and Sarah Johanns

Annual Conventions with many great speakers have helped MMA members to network and learn for the day.

Chair: Rita Kennedy

Roundtables, such as underwriting or condos, allow members to focus on more niche areas. Come and share some new ideas!
